The Woodpecker

I saw a Pileated Woodpecker on my walk today.  You know, the "Woody Woodpecker" kind.  I've seen them many times before, but this one was backlit.  I got a perfect view of him pounding his head into a tree.  The way he just reared back and slammed his head into that tree was nothing short of amazing!  It just doesn't seem possible that any creature could do that without sustaining some damage to their head.  I watched him for about a minute and then moved on - I didn't want to spook him and make him miss his breakfast.  But as I walked away, I marveled at God's works.  His natural wonders are so far beyond anything we could manufacture.  I found God today in the amazing "technology" of the Pileated Woodpecker.
